Water Sampling & Water Quality Testing

Are you worried about the quality of your water? If you are legally required to test your water systems, we can help you. Compliance with ACoP L8 or the Drinking Water Regulations is easy when you use our expertise. With great service and a quick turn around, let AMES Legionella Control help you keep on top of your water quality concerns.

We can arrange for samples to be taken by our trained staff and analysed in our laboratory. AMES also offer full certification and an explanation of all samples taken.

We offer water sampling to test for Legionella bacteria or Potable water quality (drinking water). If other health problems such as infections are believed to have arisen from pond or pool water, a ‘Pseudomonas’ sample can be taken.

Water Sampling Tailored For Your Needs

We can arrange to carry out scheduled water sampling, or just a one-off sampling or quality test for piece of mind.  Our team are more than happy to advise you regarding your exact sampling requirements.

Process water used in numerous manufacturing systems can also be tested..  COD and BOD water quality testing can also be provided.

Fast & Effective Process Water Quality Analysis

Process water is the water used when making a product or as an essential part of industrial processes. Almost all industrial processes require water in some quantity.

Unfortunately, process water can easily provide an idea growth medium for legionella and other bacteria which are harmful to humans. As it is often used in and around machinery which creates debris and is often sprayed, squirted or poured onto moving equipment. This warming and cooling and aerosol creating movement gives bacteria the kind of environment that it needs to thrive.

Process water used by the food industry will probably also have increased levels of organic matter, this makes it even more hospitable to bacteria. Clearly there are a variety of risks involved with the use of process water which must be properly assessed and controlled on a regular basis.

Choose an example below to find out more about process water risk control in a variety of different industries:

Food & Beverage Industry
Water quality and purity is particularly important in food manufacturing sites, as it is used in the manufacturing of products for consumption. Water is also required for cleaning of processing equipment, vessels and raw food products. Hot water, steam, cooling and refrigeration systems also require water.

Water analysis can be carried out to check the quality of water to be used in consumable products and in the manufacturing process itself. Call 0800 197 1650 for more details.

Drinking Container Industry
Bottles, crates and other returnable items often involve water in cleaning processes or pressure sprays and steam in the cleaning of containers. Water systems used to carry out these processes can be tested for water quality and compliance with Legionella regulations etc.

Other industries which use large quantities of water such as the chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, pulp, paper and printing, metal-working and automotive sector benefit from having a consistent water quality monitoring system in place.

Benefits of Fast & Effective Process Water Analysis
Monitoring of process water quality extends beyond the requirements of sanitation and public health (e.g. testing for the proliferation of legionella bacteria). Effective water analysis can also test for the presence of microbial induced corrosion, which has implications for the efficiencies, maintenance costs and environmental policies within industry.

Analytical Testing Of Water Quality

Analytical testing of water samples in a laboratoryAMES technicians carry out analytical testing of water quality for customers including industrial and manufacturing sites, leisure facilities, NHS sites, council and food manufacturing facilities.

By taking water samples from the relevant components of your system, we can ensure that you have an accurate picture of the health of your system.  We can take samples from your tanks, pipework, equipment and any outlets.

The UCAS approved laboratories that we use, can test for elevated levels of several types of bacteria in your water.  While legionella bacteria are one of the most dangerous water-borne bacteria, it is not the only form of biological contaminant and where required, samples can be tested for other specific problems.

We can also evaluate your potable (drinking) water.  I.e how balanced, clean and safe your water supply is.  Water with poor wholesomeness may not threaten the life of those on your site.

We can consult on the results of your chemical and microbiological tests which enable us to advise you on how to maintain the correct water conditions for your facilities.
