On the 1st and 2nd May 2010 9 climbers and one very dedicated driver (aka Dave) travelled the length of the UK, climbed the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, survived sleeping among cows, sheep, a late night curry, endured the incessant snoring from this web marketer in their tents, handled blizzards and snow climbing to reach Ben Nevis’s peak, gale force winds when climbing Scarfell Pike, descending Snowdon in clouds and nightfall and still emerged victorious. (This adopted member of the AMES team for the weekend found it a privilege to take part in what was a challenging event, but more importantly one which involved being in great company and was terrific fun).
Of course, the real reason for the challenge was to raise funds for a fantastic cause. The sponsorship you have generously pledged will make a real difference to the lives of families where a child has a life-limiting condition. The refit of a family stop-over facility at Acorns Children’s Hospice in Walsall will make life for families, travelling often long distances for respite and treatment, a little easier at a time of great personal challenge. So THANK YOU. THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
With the money YOU have pledged we are looking good for the £5000 target. If you have not yet donated your sponsored pledge then please do so at our Just Giving page by clicking here
Alternatively cheques for Acorns can be sent to the office. The sooner we can collect these pledges the sooner we can help to make a difference. We look forward to showing you all the finished results.
Many Many Thanks for all your support,
THE AMES TEAM 2010
